How to Wire a Daisy Chain for Tank Cloud Sensors

VIDEO DESCRIPTION

A daisy chain is an effective way to reduce both installation and long term data costs for remote tank level monitoring. This is done by limiting the wiring to a single cable run and by allowing you to network several sensors to one internet connection. Not to mention how easy it is.

HOW TO WIRE A DAISY CHAIN

To wire a daisy chain, all you need is a shielded twisted pair cable, a junction box with wiring terminals for each sensor, and a 120-ohm terminating resistor.

Now for the easy part: Simply match the lead wires by color in the junction box.

Make sure that the drain wires lead to a single ground and then repeat this process for each sensor along the chain.

Place a 120-ohm terminator resistor on the signal wires at both extreme ends of the daisy chain.
