Register Explorer Account
Use the invite email from apgsensors.com to register your account and access Explorer.
Power & Connect Your APG Gateway Device
After purchasing a gateway device from APG (such as Settler), power the device and connect your sensors.
Setup & Configure
Use the simple Configure Gateway wizard in Explorer to set up your gateway and configure your sensors.

TROUBLESHOOTING & SUPPORT
We don’t expect users to have troubles with the Explorer software, however, here are some basic troubleshooting steps just in case.
Trouble with Sign-In
Check email inbox for invitation and verification email. It may have gone to a spam folder.
Explorer webpage connection issues
- Check internet connection.
- Website host may be down—please wait one hour to enable the hosting service to get back online.
- Contact APG for support.
Gateway device does not appear in Explorer
Ensure the gateway device is powered on and connected to the internet. For Settler devices, refer to the Settler user manual for connection troubleshooting steps. You can view the user manual on the online page here.
Sensors are connected but no data appears in Explorer
- Check sensor wiring to gateway device.
- Ensure correct Modbus ID or 4-20mA Power Line input is assigned in Explorer.
- Restart the gateway device.
Alarms or alarm notifications are not working correctly
- Ensure that the alarm parameter message is not pending in the Message Center. Press “Send Pending Messages” to send the parameter changes to the gateway device (see section 2.5: Message Center in the Explorer User Manual).
- If the Volume, Specific Gravity, or Distance parameters have changed, update the alarm setpoint values accordingly.
- Ensure your contact information is up to date and send a test notification to make sure the alarm notifications will work (see section 1.4: Profile in the Explorer User Manual).
Sensor chart is not auto refreshing correctly
- Ensure that the “Auto Refresh” box is checked (see section 2.2: Chart in the Explorer User Manual).
- Refresh the webpage using Ctrl+F5 or cmd+Shift+R
