We wanted to make the most robust hammer union pressure transducer possible, so we put it through a few tests. One of those involved a 30+ foot throw from our roof down into our shipping bay. We kept redesigning our hammer union pressure transmitter until we couldn’t break it anymore. This test showed us that our sensor was ready for the rough handling of the oil field.

“When these oil rigs get taken down, you know they take them down quick, and they’re not real tender with some of the equipment. And, so, to replicate some of, you know, the extreme situations that we became aware of, we actually took our hammer union up on top of the roof. It’s about a 30 foot distance and threw it down into a docking bay multiple times. The first couple times we did it, you know, we had failures and we kept redesigning making it a little bit more robust until it didn’t break any more.”
