Cable Float Switch

FT-100/FT-300

Single-Point Float Switch

The FT-100 and FT-300 Series Cable Float Switches are cost-effective, reliable, and ideal for simple alarm and water level control applications. These traditional float switches provide highly repeatable performance. The FT-100 offers multiple switching options, including NO (Normally Open), NC (Normally Closed), or SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw), while the FT-300 is available with NO or NC connections.

Designed with budget-conscious users in mind, these float switches deliver consistent and accurate water level detection. They are perfect for simple, single-point alarming applications without compromising on quality. The FT-100 and FT-300 switches are built for durability, featuring high-impact, corrosion-resistant polypropylene housing and a standard 6-meter (20 ft.) cable length. Other cable lengths are available in 5 ft. increments.

What are the primary differences between the FT-100 and FT-300 float switches?

The FT-100 offers multiple switching options, including Normally Open (NO), Normally Closed (NC), or Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT), with a 1.5-inch switching differential. The FT-300 provides NO or NC connections with a 4.0-inch switching differential and is designed for low-current switching applications.

Both models are ideal for simple alarm applications, water level monitoring, and pump control. They are commonly used in sump pumps, wastewater systems, and other fluid monitoring setups where reliability and cost-effectiveness are key.

Both models feature a high-impact, corrosion-resistant polypropylene housing, ensuring durability in various fluid environments.

The float switches activate when the water level causes the float to rise or fall, triggering the switch immediately above or below the activation point.

The polypropylene housing is corrosion-resistant, making these switches suitable for many water-based applications. However, for highly corrosive or chemical-heavy environments, consult with APG to determine suitability.
