APG Sensors (“we,” “our,” or “us”) built the Scout Communicator mobile application (“Scout Communicator” or the “App”) to allow users to connect to compatible APG Sensors devices using Bluetooth for device configuration, monitoring, and communication.

This Privacy Policy explains how Scout Communicator handles information when you use the App.

Information We Collect

Scout Communicator is designed to operate without collecting, storing, transmitting, or sharing your personal information.

The App does not require users to create an account, and we do not collect information such as:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Contacts
  • Photos or media
  • Payment information
  • Device identifiers used for tracking
  • Location data

Bluetooth & Device Permissions

Scout Communicator requires certain Android permissions to discover and communicate with compatible APG Sensors Bluetooth devices.

Depending on your Android version, these permissions may include:

  • Bluetooth
  • Bluetooth Scan
  • Bluetooth Connect
  • Nearby Devices
  • Location (required by some Android versions for Bluetooth scanning)

These permissions are used solely to enable Bluetooth communication with nearby APG Sensors devices. While some Android versions require Location permission for Bluetooth scanning, Scout Communicator does not access, collect, store, or transmit your location.

Data Storage & Device Communication

Scout Communicator does not transmit data to APG Sensors or any third-party servers.

Configuration settings and communications between Scout Communicator and compatible APG Sensors devices remain on your mobile device and the connected hardware. We do not remotely access or store this information.

Log Data

Scout Communicator does not intentionally collect diagnostic or usage data. However, if the App crashes or experiences an unexpected error, your device’s operating system or app store provider may generate crash reports or diagnostic information. Any such information is collected and handled according to the privacy practices of your device manufacturer or operating system provider, not APG Sensors.

Cookies

Scout Communicator does not use cookies or similar tracking technologies.

Third-Party Services

Scout Communicator does not use third-party analytics, advertising, tracking services, or advertising SDKs.

Service Providers

Because Scout Communicator does not collect or process personal information, we do not employ third-party service providers to process user data on our behalf.

Data Sharing

Because Scout Communicator does not collect personal information, we do not sell, rent, disclose, or share personal information with third parties.

Security

Although Scout Communicator does not collect personal data, we are committed to maintaining reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the integrity of the application and its Bluetooth communications. However, no method of electronic storage or wireless communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children’s Privacy

Scout Communicator is not intended for children under the age of 13.
