At Automation Products Group, Inc. (APG), we’ve spent more than two decades working with plant managers and operators across industries like water and wastewater, food and beverage, oil and gas, and chemical processing. Along the way, we’ve learned some important lessons about what it takes to keep operations safe, efficient, and compliant.
Here are five key takeaways from our experience, and how they’ve shaped the sensors we build today:
1. Safety Can’t Be Compromised
Plants that operate in hazardous environments need sensors they can trust. That’s why we designed the MPXI-F Magnetostrictive Level Transmitter to be explosion-proof, with a flexible stem for easier installation. It even offers an optional temperature sensor, giving you two measurements in one.
2. No Single Technology Fits Every Application
We’ve learned that radar works well in some applications and submersible pressure excels in others—but sometimes, you need both. The TRUE ECHO® Plus combines radar and pressure level sensing, giving you reliable readings even in flood or overfill conditions where a single technology might fail.
3. Compliance Matters
When potable water is involved, meeting safety standards is non-negotiable. Our PT-500E Submersible Pressure Transducer is NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372 certified, making it a trusted choice for tanks, wells, and wastewater systems where water quality is critical.
4. Harsh Environments Demand Tough Materials
Chemical processes can be especially hard on equipment. That’s why the PT-503 features a PVDF coating that stands up to aggressive chemicals, while still offering reliable performance up to 69 feet of submersion.
5. Remote Access Saves Time and Costs
Traveling onsite for every adjustment wastes both time and resources. The Settler gateway is web-enabled, allowing you to monitor and configure settings remotely. It’s proof that convenience and reliability can go hand-in-hand.
Our Commitment to You
These lessons have guided us for more than 20 years, and they continue to shape how we design, build, and support our sensors. At APG, our mission is simple: provide industrial measurement solutions that make your job easier, safer, and more efficient.
