The aerospace industry demands precision, and your operations depend on reliable sensor data. Whether you’re monitoring tire pressure, managing safe taxiing, or maintaining aircraft systems, Automation Products Group Inc. (APG) offers dependable sensor solutions that meet your toughest aerospace needs.
Weight Distribution, Tire Pressure, and Agriculture with Digital Pressure Gauges
Digital pressure gauges can be used for aerospace applications such as aircraft tire pressure measurement or to monitor the pressure in agricultural aviation.
Ensuring proper weight distribution is critical during maintenance. When aircraft are lifted using jacks, our PG10 digital pressure gauges delivers precise readings, helping technicians balance weight evenly and prevent structural strain.
Tire pressure is critical in aerospace operations. Plane tires are filled with nitrogen and most need to be inflated to over 300 psi. Under inflated tires can lead to increased strain on the tire, tire failure, and crashes. But if the tire is over inflated, it can lead to wheel failure or even cause a serious explosion. It’s necessary to get the correct amount of nitrogen to fill the tire—not too much and not too little—and APG’s PG7 digital pressure gauge provides those measurements as the tire is being filled up.
In agricultural aircraft, the PG7 also helps monitor pesticide tank pressure, giving pilots real-time insight into remaining spray levels.
Object Detection with Ultrasonic Level Sensors
When taxiing planes, it’s vital to know where the aircraft are in proximity to other objects. APG’s IRU-2000 ultrasonic level sensor enhances safety during aircraft taxiing by detecting nearby objects, helping prevent collisions with other aircrafts, vehicles, or structures. It also supports height measurement for ground operations.
Control Systems with Multiplexer
APG provides network multiplex transformers, which are placed in the control system of jets. APG’s Multiplexer is a signal-routing transformer used in advanced fly-by-wire systems, including those on the F-16 Fighting Falcon. It routes the control inputs, like stick pressure, to aircraft control surfaces, ensuring precise, computer-assisted flight control.
Aircraft Control Panels with Flashing Lights
APG’s panel flasher provides pilots with critical visual alerts, indicating system status, warnings, and confirmation of key actions like landing gear deployment. These indicators enhance pilot awareness and aircraft safety.
Whether you’re upgrading your maintenance processes or enhancing flight safety, APG’s custom sensors deliver the performance and accuracy aerospace demands. Contact us today and let one of our product experts help you find the right solution for your application.
