At APG, our ultrasonic sensors have set a high standard for reliable performance, offering a range of options to meet diverse needs. Among them, the LOE stands out—not just as an ultrasonic sensor but also as a powerful Modbus controller.
The LOE, short for Level Over Ethernet, is a web-enabled ultrasonic level sensor and Modbus controller. It seamlessly connects to other Modbus devices over Ethernet, delivering rapid, reliable communication. Designed for remote level measurement, the LOE integrates with our Tank Cloud platform to provide real-time, online monitoring.
The LOE operates much like a regular ultrasonic sensor. Ultrasonic sensors emit sound waves from the transducer. These waves reflect off the liquid surface and return to the transducer. The ultrasonic sensor then measures the time the wave took to reflect off the liquid’s surface and converts the measurement into a calculated distance. Simple, precise, and highly effective.
The LOE is versatile enough to function independently in a single tank, just like any other ultrasonic sensor. While the factory default is calculating distance, it can also be used to calculate level. Whether you’re working with linear tanks, non-linear tanks like spherical or oval shapes, or even tanks with chutes, the LOE handles complex measurements with ease. What truly sets the LOE apart is its functionality as a Modbus controller. This sensor can manage up to 10 of APG’s Modbus sensors, in any combination of level, pressure, magnetostrictive, and ultrasonic sensors. With flexible network connectivity and the ability to integrate into our Tank Cloud remote monitoring system, the LOE allows you to remotely program and monitor your system via the Internet from the comfort of your office.
The LOE’s capabilities make it ideal for a wide range of applications.
If you’re looking for a solution that’s as powerful as it is versatile, the LOE is ready to exceed your expectations. Curious to learn more? Contact our Sales Team today to explore how the LOE can meet your level measurement needs!
