Here at Automation Products Group, Inc. (APG), we are thrilled to introduce our new TRUE ECHO® CR-L radar level sensor. Discover how this cutting-edge device stands out with its advanced features and see how it compares to our other exceptional products.
Radar sensors use electromagnetic waves, which travel much faster than sound waves. This non-contact measurement method allows radar sensors to efficiently measure viscous materials, vapors, liquids, sludges, slurries, and dense materials. In contrast, ultrasonics use sound waves to measure, but these slower waves can become disrupted as they bounce off the target, which can lead to less reliable measurements.
Radar sensors emit low-energy, high-frequency electromagnetic impulses, generated by the sensor’s circuitry. When the electromagnetic waves hit the surface of the substance, part of the impulse energy is reflected back to the sensor. The sensor then calculates the level based on the time difference between the impulses sent and the impulses reflected.
TRUE ECHO technology is designed to withstand challenging conditions. It remains unaffected by temperature thanks to the dynamic sensing technology programmed in our TRUE ECHO radar sensors.
The TRUE ECHO CR-L is a Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar, bringing the high accuracy of radar sensors to industrial liquid measurement. Unlike pulse radar sensors, FMCW radars emits a continuous signal, allowing for more precise measurements.
