The first advantage the TRUE ECHO PRL radar gives you is its narrow beam spread. With the polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) center rod, the beam spread is 6° from center, for a 12° total angle. The beam spread for sensors with the 6” diameter stainless steel horn is 3°. This smaller beam spread means the TRUE ECHO PRL radar can be mounted closer to the sides of tanks with less fear of interference, which means more reliable measurements and more peace of mind. With the 50-foot maximum range of the TRUE ECHO PRL-050, that translates to a target circle with a 10.5-foot diameter.
Durable Housing
The second reason the TRUE ECHO PRL radar is great for water and wastewater applications is its durable protection housing. Whether stainless steel or aluminum, the housing is designed for worry-free use. The IP68 rating and NEMA 6 rating gives this sensor dust-tight protection and can withstand immersion in water deeper than three feet. The operating temperature range of the enclosure is from -40° to 140° F, so exposure to the elements, including direct sun and blowing snow or rain, won’t affect the operation of the TRUE ECHO PRL radar. Hot or cold, wet or dry, the TRUE ECHO PRL radar will just keep working.
Ease of Installation
Finally, TRUE ECHO PRL radars are easy to install, easy to set up, and easy to use. For ease of installation, it’s hard to beat the options of the TRUE ECHO PRL radar: 1.5”, 2”, and 3” NPT and 2” Sanitary Tri-Clamp. Wiring is a breeze with clearly marked electrical terminals. As far as setup goes, the TRUE ECHO PRL radar is push-button configurable for 4-20 mA (level) or 20-4 mA (distance) output, and auto-tuning for optimal signal clarity. Screw it in, wire it up, and turn it on.
